Synopsis

“Everything that can be expressed through the six strings of the guitar lies in his hands, brought to life with the profound depth of sensitivity and the purity of the utmost interpretative honesty.”

A flamenco guitar, alongside the melody of a saxophone and the magic of the timple—a masterful trio of exceptional musicians paying tribute to one of our most iconic guitarists of all time, a lover of the sea, the wind, and the sand of the islands.

Paco once told us:
“When I was a child, there was no freedom when it came to composing. You had to repeat the old ways. The people of Flamenco considered it a sacrilege to play any note outside what was established. I always felt that traditions had to be respected, but not followed with blind faith. You have to embrace your time, be present in the moment you live in, with all the music you hear, all the evolution, and always, always, without losing that essence, that strength, that unique personality that flamenco has.”

In search of harmony, Paco de Lucía opened flamenco to other musical genres beyond its traditional realm (blues, jazz), and along the way, he left behind legendary pieces such as Entre Dos Aguas—the centerpiece of this event.
Here, the five strings of the timple will accompany the six strings of the guitar, showcasing how all folk traditions share common roots. This tribute will bring that connection to an international stage.
The maestro passed away on February 25, and he deserves the greatest of homages through this heartfelt tribute.

Paco de Lucía

Flamenco is a feeling that lives within. It’s not just about technique; it’s about soul and experiencing the music with the heart.
